Mr. Biv

Last Monday, I was feeling blue, so I
Called my friend and asked him what to do
“Here’s advice that’s worth its weight in gold
Just find Mr. Biv – let the tapestry unfold.”
So I looked in the cities, and I asked ’round the towns
Till a white shaft of light split the grays and the browns
Then a sliver of silver and red began to sprout
When the spectrum bent and the colors flew out

You helped me fill the blank white pages
With all the colors of the golden ages

There was rain in my heart, it was dreary, drab and dark
Mr. Biv came along like a rainbow in the park
Now it pours down purple, it showers cyan
And the lining of the clouds has turned orange, green, and tan
You helped me fill the blank white pages
With all the colors of the wisest sages

Mr. Biv, I want to thank you
For brightening the lives of every boy and every girl
Thanks for red, orange, yellow
Green, blue, indigo, and violet
All the colors of the world

It was a red-letter day, like a bolt from the blue
You came with flying colors and showed me what to do
Peach, purple, and aquamarine
With a shock of pink and a shade of green
You helped me fill the blank white pages
With all the colors of the actor’s stages

Mr. Biv, I want to thank you
For brightening the lives of every boy and every girl
Thanks for red, orange, yellow
Green, blue, indigo, and violet
All the colors of the world

Rainbows make me happy
Rainbows set me free
Every time I see a rainbow
I know Mr. Biv is here with me

Mr. Biv, I want to thank you
For brightening the lives of every boy and every girl
Thanks for red, orange, yellow
Green, blue, indigo, and violet
All the colors of the world
